An insight into the fascinating manner in which Arda Güler emulated the endeavours of Mesut Özil during Real Madrid’s meeting with Celta Vigo has come to the fore online.
This, of course, comes after the Turkish starlet at long last opened his account in the colours of Real late on Sunday night.
Afforded a late cameo off the bench in a La Liga clash with the aforementioned Celta, Güler grasped the opportunity with both hands, in adding his side’s 4th goal of a dominant display.
Slipped into the visitors’ penalty area courtesy of a perfectly-weighted Dani Ceballos pass, the 19-year-old made no mistake, rounding the advancing Vicente Guaita, before slotting home confidently into an empty net.
And yet, as alluded to above, Güler’s fine finish last night did not only prove a special one owing to the fact that it marked his first in Blancos colours.
In addition, it saw the prodigious starlet imitate the endeavours of a former member of his club’s midfield ranks, in borderline eery fashion.
As highlighted by a section of eagle-eyed Real Madrid supporters on social media, Güler’s maiden goal for the capital giants came in almost the exact same manner as that of Mesut Özil.
Slipped through one-on-one in a meeting with Deportivo back in October of 2010, Özil rounded the goalkeeper by way of a touch with his left foot, before stroking home with his right… precisely the same technique made use of by Güler against Celta.
A sign of things to come for the latter? Those of a Real persuasion will certainly hope so…
