Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga grilled on Kylian Mbappé arrival before Leipzig clash

Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga was subjected to a host of questions surrounding the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappé at the club during a media appearance on Tuesday.

As much, of course, comes amid the widespread expectation that frontman Mbappé will be unveiled as the latest addition to Real’s star-studded ranks at any moment.

After coming to the decision not to renew his expiring terms with Paris Saint-Germain, the 25-year-old has since been locked in negotiations with the Santiago Bernabéu brass, with a view to a summer free transfer.

Joining head coach Carlo Ancelotti in a press conference on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of Mbappé was put to friend and international teammate Eduardo Camavinga.

The midfield starlet has previously hinted at the arrival of PSG’s star man in Spain’s capital, with the awaiting media presence having therefore no doubt been keen for a fresh update on the subject this afternoon.

This time round, however, Camavinga was all business.

“I haven’t spoken with Mbappé. He’s a PSG player and I don’t know what will happen next season,” the 21-year-old first responded when pressed on the subject.

Asked whether Mbappé’s prospective signing is a regular topic of discussion in Los Blancos’ dressing room, Camavinga added:

“I don’t talk about players who don’t play here.”

Real Madrid will return to action on Wednesday night, when they play host to German outfit RB Leipzig in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie between the clubs.
