Stade de Reims have confirmed the signing of Benjamin Stambouli (33) on a free transfer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder had most recently been playing in Turkey with Adana Demirspor but had terminated his contract prior to a move back to Ligue 1.
The midfielder became the second signing for Reims on deadline day after the club confirmed the acquisition of Sergio Akieme (26) from UD Almería on a deal that will see the left-back with Les Rouges et Blancs until 2029.

Despite the club previously rejecting the notion that they would be adding extra personnel to the team this winter, it has been a late flurry from the Champagne club to end the transfer window. Reims have managed to strengthen Will Still’s squad before a vital stretch to end the season as they attempt to steal into the European positions.
The lack of investment over the winter had been a thorny issue between the hierarchy and Still, but this change to the situation may alleviate some of the tension that was brewing behind the scenes.
