Atlético Madrid are looking to return to winning ways away from home and this weekend travel to San Mamés to take on Athletic Club on Saturday. Diego Simeone’s side’s last league outing was the away defeat to Barcelona.
Simeone will make four changes to the eleven that played against Lazio in midweek. Axel Witsel will return to the backline after playing as a midfielder in the Champions League. The Belgian will be accompanied by Mario Hermoso, who will return after missing out against Almería due to suspension. José María Giménez is also expected to start in defence in Bilbao. Nahuel Molina will return to the right side of defence, but there will be a change on the left, with Spain international Roro Riquelme returning to the starting lineup ahead of Samu Lino, who started against Almería and Lazio.
The midfield will again be formed by Koke, Marcos Llorente and Rodrigo de Paul. Up front there will be no surprises as Antoine Griezmann will play alongside Álvaro Morata.
