Eintracht Frankfurt are set to sign highly-rated defender Nathaniel Brown from 1. FC Nürnberg, according to Sky Germany.

The report claims that Eintracht have reached a verbal agreement on a contract until 2029 with the 20-year-old left-back, with a fee of €3 million plus add-ons on the table.

Brown, a German Under-21 international with American roots, has made 14 appearances for Nürnberg this season, registering two assists.

Meanwhile, Eintracht are being linked with a move for a more experienced player, namely Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

According to Bild, the former Mainz striker has emerged as a candidate in Eintracht’s search for a new striker.

Mateta is said to be open to leaving Crystal Palace in search of more playing time and would cost around €10 million.

Die Adler are already expected to sign 20-year-old Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi in January.
