Despite returning to training, Jamal Musiala is expected to miss Bayern Munich’s trip to FC Köln on Friday night as he recovers from a slight hamstring tear.
The 20-year-old picked up the injury in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win against Galatasaray on November 8 which resulted in Musiala missing Bayern’s 4-2 win against Heidenheim, and subsequently missing out on Julian Nagelsmann’s latest Germany squad as he recovers.
In more positive news however, Musiala returned to running duties at Bayern’s Säbener Straße HQ on Monday but as reported by Kicker, Friday’s game will probably come too early with the Rekordmeister not willing to take any risks. They do indicate though that he should be fit for Bayern’s game against Copenhagen in the Champions League five days later.
On Thursday, players will return to Bayern following their international duties. Ideally, Thomas Tuchel would like to give Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae a break but is unable to do so given their defensive injuries. Tarek Buchmann is currently sidelined for the foreseeable future, while Matthijs de Ligt is also struggling with a knee injury.
