Barcelona director Deco has provided an update on the club’s plans for on-loan forward Ansu Fati.
Wide-man Ansu, of course, sealed a surprise move away from Catalonia during the summer, taking his talents to the Premier League to line out for Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Spanish international has since gone on to enjoy a solid start to life on England’s south coast, notching four goals and an assist across 13 appearances to date.
With the majority of his minutes on the pitch having come in Europe, and Ansu struggling to carve out a starting berth in the league, however, questions remain when it comes to the ability of the 21-year-old to work his way back into the plans of the powers that be in Barcelona.
Speaking to the media, as much was put to Blaugrana director Deco and the Portuguese appeared optimistic when it comes to Ansu’s future prospects back in La Liga, confirming that there is ‘no doubt’ the 21-year-old could return to Camp Nou.
“Ansu can come back, of course. He’s very young and he’s happy now,” Deco told RAC1.
“He asked to go out on loan looking for minutes and decided on Brighton and I think he did well.
“We’re following him because Bojan, who is doing a great job, is watching him. I will go see him soon. The future depends on him. He can return to Barça, there is no doubt.”
