Walter Mazzarri is now set to become the new Napoli manager, having beaten Igor Tudor in the race.
Rudi Garcia is set to be sacked by the club after the loss to Empoli and for a while, it seemed as if Tudor was going to be the club’s next manager and that is how things seemed to be like yesterday.
But Mazzarri is now set to become the club’s next manager after an agreement was reached between the two clubs, reports Daniele Longo. And this comes after he held a decisive meeting with club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis at the Filmauro studios in Rome. He recently rejected an offer from an Egyptian club and he is expected to sign a seven-month-long deal with the Partenopei.
It is reported across the Italian media that Tudor wanted a longer term project to take over at Napoli, whereas De Laurentiis only handed a short-term deal. TMW state that Mazzarri will earn one million in his seven-month-long stay and will not be handed the option of a renewal.
Rudi Garcia’s sacking will be made official soon and Mazzarri will take charge of training tomorrow.
