Bayern Munich have given an update on Serge Gnabry’s injury after the winger was forced off in the early stages of Tuesday’s 4-0 DFB-Pokal win over Preußen Münster.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, the German champions confirmed that the Germany international has suffered a fracture of the ulna in his left forearm.
As a result, Gnabry will be sidelined for several weeks.
“Serge will undergo surgery tomorrow and will be out for several weeks,” Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel said after last night’s win.
“It’s a bitter blow for him personally, but also for us. He is an important player and a great character,” Tuchel added.
Gnabry has made six appearances for Bayern this season, finding the back of the net once.
The Bavarians next face RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening.
