According to Bild, Julian Nagelsmann has a list of four strikers who could potentially be called up to the German national team for their October friendlies.
It was previously reported that Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier is a candidate to be called up to the national team after he has impressed for Hoffenheim as a striker in the opening games of the season, while the 20-year-old also brings versatility to play as a winger.
As Beier is still relatively young, Nagelsmann could turn to a different type of striker to fill a position which is one of Germany’s glaring weaknesses. Union Berlin’s Kevin Behrens and 1.FC Köln Davie Selke have the opportunity to earn a call-up to the national team squad in October, while Hamburg’s Robert Glatzel has an outside chance of making it into the squad.
Nagelsmann’s first two games as Germany’s coach come in unideal circumstances as they must travel to the US to face the USA and Mexico in October, this will likely restrict the time that Nagelsmann will have on the training ground with the players which could become an issue with the turnaround until the Euros next summer very short.
