Julian Nagelsmann plans on bringing in Maximilian Beier as Germany’s striker during their trip to the USA in October, according to SportBild.
The 20-year-old TSG Hoffenheim forward has scored four goals in his opening five games this season and has caught the eye of the new national coach. Hoffenheim themselves have hit the ground running and currently sit 5th in the Bundesliga. One of the key factors being the in-form Beier.
Showing great potential as a clinical striker and at just 20 years of age, it makes perfect sense for Nagelsmann to bring Beier into the fold.
In truth, Germany has been crying out for an out-and-out striker for some time. Ever since winning the World Cup in 2014, Die Mannschaft hasn’t produced a young striker to fill the role that Miroslav Klose once occupied.
It will be the perfect test for Beier and Nagelsmann as preparations for next year’s Euros truly get underway.
Germany will play friendlies against the USA and Mexico between October 14th and October 18th.
