Robert Andrich is not happy with his current role at Bayer Leverkusen.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who has yet to start a game this season, told Kicker:
“Of course I imagine things to be different than in the last weeks. But that’s part of it.”
But with Leverkusen having won their first three Bundesliga games of the season in convincing fashion, Andrich understands why it’s currently difficult to force his way into the starting lineup.
“The guys have done well. So I can’t complain too much. After all, there are others in the team who, like me, are not happy about not playing,” he said.
Granit Xhaka and Exequiel Palacios have been Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso’s preferred central midfield partnership so far this season.
