Marco Rose is hoping to keep Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons at RB Leipzig beyond the end of the season.
RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has expressed his hope that Xavi Simons will stay at the club for the long term.
Simons is currently playing for Leipzig on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, but Rose would like to keep him longer.
“We hope so, of course. If he feels comfortable with us and feels that we are the right club at the right time, then we will talk about it. You can assume that the boys are self-determined and he made a conscious decision to go to Leipzig as the next step in his career,” Rose told Kicker.
“Maybe he’ll follow the example of Dani Olmo, who is now growing into the role of absolute leader with us. I think Dani’s decision to extend his contract with us was the right one,” said Rose.
However, it is doubtful that Paris St. Germain, where Simons is under contract until 2027, will agree to sell the Dutchman.
In his first three Bundesliga appearances for the Bullen, Simons was directly involved in five goals (two goals, three assists).
