Dortmund “the clear favorites” to win the Bundesliga this season

German World Cup winner Jürgen Kohler believes Borussia Dortmund are the “clear favorites” to win the Bundesliga title.

Dortmund won the DFB-Pokal in the 2020/21 season.

Bayern München may have won the Bundesliga title 10 times in a row, but Borussia Dortmund are the “clear favorites” to lift the trophy in the upcoming season, according to German World Cup winner Jürgen Kohler.


Kohler, who used to play for Bayern and Dortmund, wrote in a column in Kicker:

“When I look at the two top German clubs, I’m looking forward to the coming season. It should be more exciting than the past one.”

Elaborating on his bold claim, Kohler pointed out that Robert Lewandowski’s uncertain future is causing unrest at Bayern and that he doesn’t believe Sadio Mané will be able to replace the Polish international one-to-one.

At the same time, Kohler is impressed with the signings Dortmund have made, with Nico Schlotterbeck, Karim Adeyemi and Sebastien Haller among the players, who have joined’ Die Schwarzgelben’.

“Their newcomers will strengthen the team,” he emphasized.
