Rafael Borré has joined Werder Bremen on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.

SV Werder Bremen have reacted to the sale of Niclas Füllkrug to Borussia Dortmund with the signing of Rafael Borré on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Following Niclas’ move to Borussia Dortmund, it was clear to us that we still would like to make a signing in attack. With Rafael, we have managed to do that,” said Werder director of professional football Clemens Fritz.

“We are pleased that we have managed to sign him for Werder,” said Fritz, who also pointed out that Borré is a much different type of player to Füllkrug.

Borré will not be the squad for Saturday’s game against Mainz for various reasons.

“First of all, it was not possible to get him on the list of registered players for the game because the deadline for that was Friday lunchtime and also he will not be in Bremen today until late this evening. But, he will be at the game tomorrow and will get to know the team and the club, before then joining up with the Colombia national team on Sunday,” Fritz said.
