The probable departure of Ansu Fati from Barcelona means João Félix could join the Blaugrana from Atlético Madrid in the next couple of days.
Both players are represented by agent Jorge Mendes and the Portuguese forward wants to leave Atlético Madrid, where he has fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone.
The former Benfica forward’s dream is to play for Barça and he is eagerly waiting for a move to the Catalan capital, as his agent Mendes continues to work on finding him a new club for the 2023-24 season.
The operation to sign the 23-year-old is a personal bet of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who tried to sign him in the summer of 2021, a few months after becoming president of the club.
Relevo report that João Félix will not stay in Madrid and he has rented out his house. If the Barça operation cannot be completed, he will reportedly leave for Saudi Arabia.
