Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde admits that he has a great relationship with Barcelona and Uruguay defender Ronald Araújo despite the historic rivalry between the two clubs.
“Ronald fascinates me, I’ve always said so. I love him and he is also Uruguayan and a very good friend of mine”, says Valverde in an interview with The Residency that was reported by Mundo Deportivo.
The relationship between Valverde and Araújo grew with the Uruguayan national team, where both players are key parts of Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign next month.
On Barcelona players
“They all deserve to be where they are and they work for it. I respect them all,” said Valverde, who has started all three league games this season.
