Chelsea rivalling PSG in race to sign Bradley Barcola

While Paris Saint-Germain remain hopeful of signing Lyon forward Bradley Barcola after seeing their initial bid rejected, the Ligue 1 champions now face competition from Chelsea for the 20-year-old, according to a report this afternoon from RMC Sport

Les Gones have already turned down a bid worth €30m from their domestic rivals. Manchester City had previously been in the race to sign the attacker as well, but have now turned their attention to another Ligue 1 forward in Rennes’ Jérémy Doku. Having failed in their attempts to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, Chelsea are now pushing for Barcola.

Barcola scored five goals and gave nine assists in Ligue 1 in the second half of last season, while playing alongside Alexandre Lacazette after making the most of the space left by Karl Toko Ekambi’s departure.

The French youth international has not agreed terms with any other club for the time being, while Lyon themselves have put forward an asking price of €50m in previous negotiations.
