The Athletic are reporting that Chelsea target Ângelo Gabriel (18) could ultimately join RC Strasbourg Alsace this summer, should the Brazilian join the Blues.
As reported by The Athletic, Chelsea have had a €15m offer accepted by Santos for the left-footed winger, who usually features on the right. He is set to sign a five-year deal, tying him to the Premier League side until 2028. However, his short-term future may not be at Stamford Bridge, but at La Meinau.
Chelsea are reportedly keen on immediately loaning out Gabriel to Strasbourg. The Alsace club were recently purchased by BlueCo, the owners of Chelsea Football Club. As a result, it is expected that the two clubs, part of the same multi-club model, will exchange players more regularly in the coming windows. This is despite comments from Strasbourg president Marc Keller, who revealed in an interview with L’Équipe, that receiving loanees from Chelsea was not part of the project currently.
However, if reports in the UK are to be believed, Gabriel could be the first player, potentially of many, to trade Stamford Bridge for La Meinau and join Ligue 1 in a bid to further their development.
