By Admin / June 29, 2023

Lens are set to play Manchester United at Old Trafford in a pre-season friendly this summer, the English club have officially confirmed. Les Sang et Or will travel to Salford to take on the reigning Carabao Cup winners on the 5th of August.

Franck Haise has been working to improve his squad ahead of the new season, with Toulouse midfielder Stijn Spierings joining the club on a free transfer from the 1st of July. Despite a desire to bring in players, Lens could be set to lose their club captain Séko Fofana to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The scheduled friendly against the 20-time English first-division winners will take place a week before Ligue 1 action resumes for the 2023/24 season. The fixtures for the Ligue 1 season were also confirmed today. Lens will start the season with a trip to Stade Francis Le Blé to take on Brest on the 12th of August.
