Across Europe’s big leagues, including Spain, Germany and Italy, the summer transfer window opens on 1 July this year and runs until 1 September, although the exact closing times may yet vary.
This year, the Premier League’s summer transfer window opened on Wednesday 14 June and will close at 11pm on Friday 1 September, with many clubs already completing summer deals.
The Netherlands’ Eredivisie closes on 31 August, while clubs in Turkey (15 September) and Portugal (22 September) will have more time to be able to buy players.
Free agents are an exception and can sign for a club at any point of the year. Spanish clubs will soon be able to complete deals to strengthen their squads and get their business done before the beginning of the new La Liga season which gets underway in August.
