Lorient’s Enzo Le Fée closing in on Rennes move

Rennes are increasingly confident of signing FC Lorient playmaker and U-21 France international Enzo Le Fée (23), according to a report from Ouest-France.

Le Fée, one of the most sought-after attacking midfielders in Ligue 1, will move on and leave Lorient this summer a year before the expiry of his contract in order to allow Les Merlus to receive a transfer fee. Lorient have reportedly set a €25m price tag on their prized asset. The outlet adds that Rennes’ management considers the price too high.

However, the outlet understands that Rennes and Lorient are close to finding an agreement over the sale of Le Fée. The Brittany-based clubs have reportedly narrowed the gap in their valuations of the player. Rennes and Lorient are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Le Fée worth €20m, including €3m worth of bonuses – whilst the player has already agreed on personal terms with Bruno Genesio’s side. Ouest–France adds that both parties involved are optimistic about the conclusion of the deal.

Le Fée is currently on international duty with France’s U-21 side. Sylvain Ripoll’s squad will face Italy at Cluj tonight for their U-21 Euro 2023 group stage opener.
