According to Sky Germany, Lucas Alario has agreed to join Eintracht Frankfurt from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
The 29-year-old Argentina international has reached a verbal agreement with Frankfurt and hopes to join the Europa League champions soon. All that’s left now is for both clubs to agree on a price for the forward.
It’s reported that Bayer Leverkusen will allow Alario to leave for €6.5 million. However, Frankfurt are so far reluctant to pay so much for the nine-time capped international.
Since the beginning of June, Frankfurt have been attempting to sign Alario and now look to be at the final stages of the process. Negotiations have been ongoing as SGE try to lower the transfer fee to what they deem more reasonable.
With the contract extension of Patrik Schick and signings of Sardar Azmoun and Adam Hložek, Alario will find himself further down the pecking order in a World Cup year, which is why he is eager for a move to a team where he’ll get regular playing time. For personal reasons, it’s crucial that both clubs get the deal over the line.
