With Sheffield United having now sealed their return to the Premier League, the performances of forward Iliman Ndiaye in particular have caught the eye of clubs beyond the Championship.
The Rouen-born Senegal international has found the net thirteen times and registered nine assists for the Blades this campaign. According to Foot Mercato, the 23-year-old is part of a shortlist of potential targets drawn up by the Milan management.
This summer, the Rossoneri will be looking for reinforcements that can help them build on this season’s successes in Europe – they face city rivals Inter in the Champions League semi-finals – as well as bounce back from a middling league campaign that has seen them lose their scudetto to Napoli.
Specifically, Milan are looking to bring in a forward, a right winger, and a defensive midfielder. Although Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby remains their first-choice signing, the competition the Lombards face for the former Paris Saint-Germain youth player is fierce – with all of Arsenal, Newcastle, and PSG themselves interested. Signing Ndiaye, on the other hand, appears more workable, not least given both clubs and the player himself are open to a potential deal.
