Tottenham have announced their fourth signing of the season, with Yves Bissouma making the move from Brighton. The links for the midfielder came quite suddenly, and football.london understands a £25million fee was agreed between the two clubs.
Spurs have already announced the signings of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster as free agents, with young goalkeeper Josh Keeley becoming Tottenham’s third summer signing. Antonio Conte is expecting a busy summer to help build a strong squad and Bissouma is another strong addition.
The club confirmed the move in a statement on their website, confirming that a deal had been done subject to a work permit being granted.

“We are delighted to announce the transfer of Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion, subject to the granting of a work permit,” the club said. “The Mali International has agreed a deal that will run until 2026.”
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur had been creating a strong partnership in the middle of the field during the second half of the season. However, there will now be competition for the two spots in the middle.
Oliver Skipp is hoping to return for the expected tough pre-season. Harry Winks struggled for game time last season and an exit seems the likely solution this summer.
This still means Bissouma will have to battle for his spot in the middle, especially if any other midfielders are brought to N17. There is a busy fixture schedule ahead for Spurs and Conte will be relying on all his players to step-up when needed, in all competitions and he will hope Bissouma can do that successfully.
