LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David will be one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market, with several top European clubs looking for a striker.

The Canadian centre-forward has netted 20 goals in Ligue 1 this term. He is the Ligue 1 top scorer alongside Kylian Mbappe.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lille will reportedly demand around €65 million for their star striker, who will be on the move.

David’s 20th effort today helped his side get back into the game against Montpellier before Remy Cabella sealed the win against his former side.

Also, David has created seven big chances in the league, recording four assists. His hold-up and link-up play has always been fantastic, making him a complete striker.

David joined Lille from KAA Gent in August 2020 for €27 million. Current Paris Saint-Germain sporting adviser Luis Campos brought him to France.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier used David and Burak Yilmaz as his striking duo in a 4-4-2 as Les Dogues went on to win the Ligue 1 title that season.

David has constantly improved his output since landing in France. He scored 13 in his first season and 15 last season. He has already hit 20 this season with a few games to go.

The 23-year-old had hinted at a move to the Premier League. Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar is a fan of his talents.

However, the primary contender for his signature now is RB Leipzig. Die Roten Bullen is looking for another centre-forward.

They have relied too much on Timo Werner with Emile Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen off form.

The Bundesliga club reportedly likes David because of his versatility. His skillset allows him to seamlessly occupy any position across the forward line.

He can play as the striker, off the left or right, and in the hole behind a striker. This versatility will allow head coach Marco Rose to switch things tactically.

Several top clubs will monitor the striker ahead of a move this summer. Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG are all looking for a new striker and could look David’s way.
