Despite Tuesday’s DFB-Pokal defeat to Freiburg, Hasan Salihamidzic believes Thomas Tuchel has made a good start to his tenure as Bayern Munich coach.
Bayern Munich director of sport Hasan Salihamidzic defended new coach Thomas Tuchel after Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Freiburg, which knocked the Bavarians out of the DFB-Pokal.
Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann less than two weeks ago, and after leading Bayern to a 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in his first game in charge, he couldn’t prevent his team from being knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by Freiburg last night.
“It is bitter for all of us, but it has nothing to do with the coach,” Salihamidzic insisted after the game.
“It’s a process. He makes a very good impression and is doing a very good job. Today was bitter for all of us, but we will continue on Saturday.
On Saturday, Bayern travel to Freiburg to face Christian Streich’s men for the second time this week.
