RB Leipzig’s have confirmed that Christopher Nkunku will miss tomorrow’s DFB Pokal quarter-final clash against Borussia Dortmund.
The Frenchman suffered a minor thigh strain against Borussia Dortmund on March 3 and has missed Leipzig’s last four games across all competitions, including their Champions League game against Manchester City.
Leipzig also confirmed that Yussuf Poulsen would also miss the game against BVB due to muscular problems, the Danish forward also missed the 3-0 defeat against Mainz at the weekend.
In other team news, Péter Gulácsi is continuing his rehabilitation in Leipzig following an ACL injury in October whilst Xaver Schlager is sidelined for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery on his right ankle following an injury picked up against Dortmund on March 3.
Leipzig are looking for a response following their 3-0 defeat against Mainz at the weekend and the club remain unbeaten in nine Pokal games after winning the title last season – their last defeat in the competition was against Borussia Dortmund in March 2021.
