Agent speaks about Napoli’s situation regarding Chelsea-linked Koulibaly and Marcos Senesi

Napoli will undertake a massive transfer window this summer. It could be a significant one for several players, including Kalidou Koulibaly.

The 30-year-old Senegalese has reportedly opted against signing a contract extension with the Partenopei. His current terms in Naples expire in June 2023, meaning that the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis will get a final opportunity to pocket some cash from a potential sale of the defender this summer.

Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo (via CalcioNapoli1926.it), a reputed agent in Fabio Parisi has claimed that he wouldn’t throw Koulibaly on the bench as a punishment for rejecting a contract renewal offer but would rather like to enjoy his on-field abilities for the rest of his stay in Naples. He said:

“Napoli is a team that rarely does things just to do it. They are working on any eventuality. Any offers for Napoli players will be evaluated and the president will know what to do. Certainly this is not a team that needs to be revolutionized or upset. It just needs some shoring.

“He [Koulibaly] could leave, but also renew at the end of next season. Then he has another year of contract, the story is still long. Even if he stays for another and only season, Koulibaly is always an added value . Where it says that if Does a player not renew, then he is put out of the squad? But we’re kidding, I always play someone like Koulibaly.”

Napoli have been recently linked with a summer move for Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi, who is considered a perfect replacement for the wantaway Senegal international. On Senesi, the intermediary added:

“We are talking about a complete player, in the Netherlands he is learning a lot and has become an important element. Napoli know him well, have been following him for some time and are monitoring him carefully. He is certainly a player ready for Serie A and it would be a guarantee for those looking for a level defender.”

Besides Napoli, Roma and several other European clubs have been reportedly monitoring the Argentinian for some time now.
