RB Leipzig, RSC Anderlecht, and FC Midtjylland are among the clubs intensively scouting 17-year-old central defensive talent Benjamin Fredrick of Nigeria’s Nasarawa United, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The youngster recently put in an impressive set of performances at the U20 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Leipzig will almost certainly find themselves in need of central defensive reinforcements this summer after Abdou Diallo is returned to PSG, Josko Gvardiol may be sold off on an oversized offer, and a reportedly discontented Mohammed Simakan potentially pushes for a transfer. Other clubs having the need to shore up their ranks in the area should mean that the door to Europe opens one way or another for the teenager.
