On Wednesday, Sevilla face Osasuna in Pamplona in the hope of advancing to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Fernando Reges will most likely not be able to play the upcoming game due to an injury picked up in the weekend’s game against Cádiz.
The 35-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder adds much-needed experience and security to the Sevilla side and has made 15 appearances for the club this season.
Fernando has not trained fully over the last couple of days in the hope of him recovering before the crucial match, but it doesn’t appear as if he will be ready.
This adds to a worrying list of unavailable players for Sevilla, as Marcão, Jesús Corona, and Alex Telles are currently injured, and Papu Gómez and Thomas Delaney are still not at full match fitness after recent injuries.
Furthermore, Jorge Sampaoli has decided that Lucas Ocampos, recently recalled from a loan at Ajax, still needs time before being fully involved.
