VfB Stuttgart have signed 17-year-old prospect Jovan Milošević from Serbian side FK Vojvodina Novi Sad.
The teenager will complete the remainder of the season with his current side before switching to Stuttgart in the summer. The Serbian international has signed a contract that will keep him in Germany until 2027 after a transfer fee of €1.2m was agreed upon by both parties.
The deal was a complex one, however. FK Vojvodina discovered that VfB were keen on the player and therefore tried to make a possible deal with a new club a harder task than it should have been. Milošević had also stopped being selected by the team’s head coach. However, a deal was eventually agreed upon.
VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth is happy with their latest addition and looks forward to seeing Milošević’s development in Germany. The sporting director explained: “We’re happy that Jovan Milosevic has decided to join VfB, he has many qualities that an attacking player needs. We will accompany Jovan step by step in his further development at VfB and introduce him to the demands of professional football.”
Milošević will be watching his new team closely. Currently two points from safety, Stuttgart face a massive second half of the season if they are to play top-flight football next year.
