Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that AS Monaco have repeatedly rebuffed attempts by FC Bayern München to recall on-loan keeper Alexander Nübel.
Nübel himself, meanwhile, has confided to Germany’s main sporting tabloid that he isn’t too keen on returning to Bavaria.
“It makes little sense for me to come back,” Nübel told Bild after Wednesday’s win “I’m happy to be here and I still have many games ahead of me with Monaco. I’ve again felt the importance of each match. I don’t want to miss that anymore.”
“Ultimately, AS Monaco makes the call,” Nübel continued, “I am under contract here. They would first have to give the signal that they want to do it. I think that will be very difficult.”
