As reported by Kicker, the DFB will today announce a new panel of experts who will guide and advise the association on crucial matters, such as finding a successor to the outgoing Oliver Bierhoff.
In a press conference on Tuesday, DFB president Bernd Neuendorf is expected to announce the new panel as well as face questions regarding the debacle in Qatar.
This new tasks force is reported to include ex-Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, BVB advisor Matthias Sammer, Red Bull managing director Oliver Mintzlaff, Bayern boss Oliver Kahn, Rudi Völler, and more. The president as well as vice-president Hans-Joachim Watzke will also sit on the board.
The aims and objectives of this new body are expected to be outlined by Neuendorf as they seek to look ahead to hosting Euro 2024 rather than looking behind them at the mess of the past few major tournaments. The next 18 months will be crucial for the DFB as well as German football.
