Real Betis could lose midfielder Guido Rodríguez this summer.
The Andalusian side have a potential replacement for the Argentine if he leaves the Benito Villamarín, according to Goal.
Zenit St. Petersburg’s Wilmar Barrios is the main candidate to replace Rodríguez, who is reportedly happy at Betis. He has a contract until 2024 and has a release clause of €80 million.
Barrios, 28, is tied to St. Petersburg until 2026. He caught Betis’ eye in the Europa League and is currently worth around €20 million.
Zenit will not play in international competitions next year after UEFA banned Russian clubs following the invasion of Ukraine and they could sell him to balance their books.
Wilmar has, however, recently renewed his contract and the Russian club are tough in their negotiations.
