Wolfsburg weigh Marmoush sale amid BVB and BMG links

According to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany’s green company team is currently contemplating a sale of striker Omar Marmoush in the coming January transfer window. 

Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush may be on the move in the coming weeks. The local Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reports that VfL Wolfsburg are considering selling the 23-year-old attacker amid stalled contract talks. Germany’s two West Prussian clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach, are listed as suitors in the report. 
Marmoush’s contract expires at the end of the season and, according to the newspaper, acting club sporting director Jörg Schmadtke hasn’t made a great deal of head-way. Schmadtke is quoted as saying that the two camps “are considering the right decision for both the winter and summer.” 

The 15-times-capped international currently maintains a career-high estimated market value of €6 million. He has proven a valuable enough part of VfL trainer Niko Kovac’s squad this year, netting three goals amid 17 appearances across all competitions. Marmoush nevertheless isn’t quite as valuable to Kovac as he was this summer, when Kovac reportedly personnel nixed a sale to FC Brentford. 

Marmoush was able to make a significant impact whilst on loan to other German footballing clubs FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart. Taking his loan stints into account, the player has netted 12 goals in 65 appearances in the top tier and 2. Bundesliga. It would make sense for both Gladbach and Dortmund to seek out his services as an attacking reinforcement.
