Chelsea could lure ‘massive name’ Cristiano Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge as some key decision-makers behind the scenes feel he would be a ‘great signing’, according to journalist Paul Brown.
As per Sky Sports, Todd Boehly led a takeover worth £4.25billion in May and he may look to complete some big-money acquisitions during the January transfer window.

Chelsea transfer news – Cristiano Ronaldo
According to the Mirror, Chelsea are back in the hunt for Ronaldo’s signature and are mulling over whether to offer the Portuguese star a route back into the Premier League.
It comes after Manchester United announced last week that the striker’s contract had been terminated by mutual agreement, leaving him as a free agent.
Chelsea looked into the possibility of signing Ronaldo during the summer and, as per The Athletic, Boehly held discussions with the 37-year-old’s agent Jorge Mendes.
But the west Londoners could face stiff competition if they up the ante in their pursuit as Sky Sports have revealed that Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal are exploring the possibility of tempting him away from Europe.
Brazilian media outlet Veja have also reported that Flamengo are preparing to put a formal offer on the table for Ronaldo.

What has Paul Brown said about Ronaldo?
Brown understands that some within the Stamford Bridge boardroom believe Chelsea should look to sign Ronaldo.
The journalist feels the former Real Madrid man is being seen as a shrewd commercial option by the capital club.
Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “There are some people at Chelsea who think Ronaldo would be a great signing.
“He’s obviously a massive name who would create buzz, headlines, shirt sales and, from a commercial point of view, he is one of the only players in the world who gives you that reach and target audience that a club like Chelsea are looking for.”
Would Ronaldo be a good signing for Chelsea?
There is no doubt that Ronaldo knows where the back of the net is, having scored 701 goals over the course of his club career according to Transfermarkt.
However, Chelsea would still be better off turning their attentions towards alternative targets instead of attempting to lure the 193-cap Portugal international, who has found the back of the net 118 times for his country, to Stamford Bridge.
That is because Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan, where he heavily criticised then-employers Manchester United and head coach Erik ten Hag, demonstrated how he could divide a dressing room.
SofaScore statistics show he has averaged 2.5 shots per Premier League outing this season but only got his name on the scoresheet once, further emphasising that Chelsea boss Graham Potter should not give into Boehly’s desire to sign Ronaldo.
