At a press conference yesterday, Germany defender Thilo Kehrer spoke about his favorite position on the pitch.
“I have also played centre-back as well as right-back,” said the 26-year-old, who is likely to start on the right side of defence against Japan on Wednesday.
“I think I’m relatively flexible and can also get involved up front. But first and foremost, my main strength is in defence,” he added.
Kehrer also addressed his summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to West Ham.
“I wanted to keep the rhythm of the game. The transfer paid off, I’ve played every game for West Ham this season,” he said.
“We haven’t got all the results, certain things have lacked. Nevertheless, I arrived there with confidence. There is a lot of quality in every team in England, so it was also good preparation for the World Cup for me.”
