José Luis Gayà could miss the World Cup with Spain due to an ankle injury.
A decision on the full-back will be made on Friday, according to Luis Enrique: “It’s a delicate issue. The information belongs to the player and the doctors. The decision will be made tomorrow”.
As well as the concern for Gayà, the coaching staff will have to consider possible alternatives if the Valencia left-back is unable to continue and misses the World Cup.
According to Marca, Barcelona full-back Alejandro Balde is the favourite to replace the Valencia captain.
Spain have until next Tuesday to make a change to their squad.
