It has been 17 months since Zinedine Zidane stepped down as Real Madrid manager and since then the Frenchman has been sounded out for many coaching positions, including PSG, but all the clubs that have come calling have received the same answer: no.
The World Cup winner always said he did not want to have a long coaching career, but almost a year and a half later he may change his situation when the World Cup in Qatar is over, as reported by AS.
The Real Madrid legend attended the unveiling of his new wax statue at the Musée Grévin on Tuesday, where he was asked about his future: “When will you see me on the bench again? Soon, soon. I’m not far from doing it again,” said Zidane, who makes no secret of the fact that he may soon be back in charge of a team. Didier Deschamps’ contract with the French national team expires at the end of the World Cup and Zidane is the main candidate to take over.
Zidane says he is not anxious to return to coaching: “Right now I’m enjoying it, but I’m not far away”.
