Seventeenth in the Bundesliga, Schalke’s search for Frank Kramer’s successor continues. According to Sky Germany, former Bochum head coach Thomas Reis is now out of the running to become S04’s next coach.
Bruno Labbadia has also rejected the Royal Blues. Per the report, Pellegrino Matarazzo, Domenico Tedesco, Florian Kohfeldt, Alexander Zorniger, Zsolt Löw, Friedhelm Funkel and Robert Klauß are also out of the running. Club icon Mike Büskens will also not take charge despite leading them to promotion.
Training is currently led by assistant coach Matthias Kreutzer but they expect to name a new head coach before Sunday’s important Bundesliga game at Hertha Berlin.
Kramer was sacked on Wednesday morning after being humiliated by Hoffenheim in the DFB Pokal the previous day, losing 5-1. With just one win in 10 Bundesliga games, Schalke are just two points above bottom-placed club Bochum.
