Julian Nagelsmann believes either Jamal Musiala or Jude Bellingham should have won the Kopa Trophy instead of Gavi.
On Monday, Barcelona midfielder Gavi was awarded the Kopa Trophy given to the best-performing player under 21, finishing ahead of Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, Bayern’s Jamal Musiala and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in the voting.
According to Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, however, either Musiala or Bellingham deserved the award more.
“In my opinion, Jamal and Jude Bellingham have had better seasons than the winner,” the Bayern coach told reporters at a press conference.
“But Gavi is an outstanding player too, and I’m happy for him.”
