Christopher Nkunku missed RB Leipzig’s 4-0 DFB-Pokal victory over Hamburger SV due to a wrist injury.
In a post-match interview, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose provided an update on the French international, who is targeting a return against Augsburg this weekend.
“The surgery went well. His goal is to train with us again on Friday. However, our doctors still have a say in the matter. And of course it’s also about how he feels himself,” Rose told reporters.
“He went through an operation and has a wound. It will probably still hurt for a few days. We just have to wait and see if he can play on Saturday.”
