West Ham United duo Said Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini should ‘fight’ for a place in David Moyes’ preferred line-up but their respective futures ‘could be assessed in the summer’, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The Hammers have recovered from a poor start to the season by winning six of their last seven fixtures in all competitions, but Benrahma and Lanzini have been used sparingly.
What’s the latest news involving Benrahma and Lanzini?
Benrahma played a key role as West Ham booked their place in the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League earlier this week, scoring an eye-catching free-kick in the 2-1 win over Anderlecht.
However, the 27-year-old has only been afforded three Premier League starts since the campaign got underway.
Although Lanzini also played the full 90 minutes in the victory against Anderlecht on Thursday, he has rarely been handed opportunities in the top flight.
The playmaker, who cost £9million in 2016, has not been handed any game-time in the competition since August and only tallied 93 minutes on the pitch.
There are doubts over Lanzini’s future as his £70,000-per-week contract is due to expire next summer, but West Ham could extend the agreement by a further two years.

What has Dean Jones said about the duo?
Jones believes Benrahma and Lanzini should continue battling it out for more opportunities during the remainder of the campaign.
If the attacking midfielders still find themselves on the periphery in the coming months, the transfer insider feels their futures with the Hammers may be reconsidered.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think it is too easy to just say a player needs to leave because of a lack of starts.
“At the end of the day, that is going to be the case for half the squad. These are both players who should fight all season for themselves and the team and then it could be assessed in the summer.”
Why have Benrahma and Lanzini been out of the starting line-up regularly?
Benrahma made the £25million move to West Ham having racked up 30 goals and 27 assists in 94 appearances for Brentford.
However, he has not hit the same heights at the London Stadium and, in the same number of games, has registered 28 goal contributions.
Lanzini has found the back of the net 30 times and recorded a further 27 assists in 212 outings over the course of his West Ham career, but boss Moyes will be hoping for more regular contributions in the final third as he looks to take the Hammers to the next level.
