Chelsea would be an ‘attractive proposition’ to Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe if he were to leave the French capital, with the Blues harbouring ‘big’ ambitions under Todd Boehly, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The west Londoners splashed more than £250 million on new signings during the summer transfer window but another huge investment could be on the cards soon.
What is the latest on Mbappe?
The 23-year-old is pushing to leave the Parc des Princes after being left feeling ‘betrayed’ by the European giants, according to French football expert Julien Laurens.
Laurens adds that Mbappe was apparently promised Neymar would be sold and that a new striker would be brought in for him to partner when he put pen to paper on a new contract in May.
According to The Telegraph, PSG have no intention of selling the World Cup winner and would only be tempted into negotiations if a bid of more than £300 million was submitted.
Chelsea are said to be among the clubs who could sign Mbappe although it is understood that a move in January is unlikely, but a summer exit cannot be ruled out.
What has O’Rourke said on the situation?
O’Rourke believes that Chelsea would be an attractive proposition to the striker who cost PSG £166 million back in 2017.
The journalist adds that the club have lofty goals under the new ownership which could prove a bonus to players like Mbappe.
When asked whether he would consider Chelsea, O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “That’d be an attractive proposition for Kylian Mbappe. Chelsea are one of the strongest and biggest clubs in Europe. They won the Champions League not too long ago as well. They have a world-class squad, world-class facilities and they’ve got big, big ambitions under the new American owners as well. I think it’s a project that would be attractive to Kylian Mbappe.”

Have Chelsea been linked with other attackers?
While the Mbappe speculation rumbles on, the Blues have been working on a transfer that would see them sign one of his compatriots.
RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku is understood to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea ahead of a transfer next summer.
The Blues are eager to steal a march on their rivals and hope to tie up a deal for the 24-year-old before the World Cup kicks off on November 20.
