Serie A side Napoli endured another disappointing evening in Europe, falling to a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Porto in the Champions League. This came right after a loss to Juventus, with the Partenopei currently eighth in the league.
There has even been talk of dressing room trouble and things somewhat came to a head after the loss to Porto.
Striker Rasmus Hojlund spoke to Prime Video and made it clear that the players aren’t the only ones to be blamed and the manager also has to bear the brunt.
He said – via Di Marzio: : “I am disappointed and angry. We all need to look in the mirror, not just the players, but the entire club. Everyone must take responsibility.”
This came after Allegri had called out his team after the defeat, expressing belief that they should’ve defended set-pieces better and he could’ve been angrier at how things were going.
Hojlund responded to this, saying: “I don’t agree. We mustn’t concede bad goals and we must start winning , we have lost too many games this season.”
Sign of things
This is the biggest sign yet that under Allegri, Napoli’s dressing room problems are only growing. The Italian is finding no favours from a lot of players and this was also clear when Kevin De Bruyne disobeyed instructions during the loss to Villarreal.
That is something which needs to be addressed or things can go from bad to worse.
