Bayern Munich are currently dealing with several injury problems in attack, with Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz, Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari all unavailable.
Speaking to reporters on Monday (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl provided updates on the recovery timelines of all four players.
Musiala and Díaz are both recovering from muscle injuries, with the former in line to return to team training during the international break, while Díaz isn’t expected to rejoin his teammates until after the break.
Gnabry, who sustained a hamstring injury at the weekend, is expected to remain sidelined for the rest of the year, while Saibari faces a three-to-four-month spell on the sidelines following recent ankle surgery.
Elaborating on Musiala’s recovery, which has taken longer than initially anticipated, Eberl said:
“Jamal’s situation is known. He didn’t have an optimal pre-season due to his condition, then he got injured with the DFB, not with us. It’s taking a bit more time because we want to get to 100% fitness. I hope he can train more and resume team training during the international break – and then make appearances again after the international break.”
Bayern face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday before taking on Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday in their final two matches ahead of the international break.
They will return to action on November 20, when they host 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga.
