Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni has made clear that he will require a direct message of approval from Hansi Flick, if Barcelona hope to lure him to Catalunya’s capital this winter.
Defender Bastoni was of course heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this past summer, as those in a position of power at the Camp Nou sought out reinforcements at the heart of defence.
In the end, despite a contract agreement being put in place with the Italian himself, the transfer failed to come to fruition, owing to Hansi Flick’s final say in the matter.
Barca have since kicked into gear a fresh search for fresh blood at centre-back for the 2nd half of the season, with Bastoni back on the club’s radar.
The 27-year-old himself, though, has made clear that whilst he remains keen on a Blaugrana switch, he will not give the final green light without first receiving assurances from Hansi Flick. As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘If he is to take the step of signing for Barcelona, Bastoni has learned his lesson: he needs to know that he is a priority not only for Deco, who always made him feel that way, but also for Hansi Flick.’
