In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we’ll highlight 10 players to consider adding to your team ahead of Matchday 8.

As a rule of thumb, we’ll try to steer clear of the most obvious picks, instead focusing mainly on players who could offer great value as differentials.

Maarten Vandevoordt, RB Leipzig (Goalkeeper, 12.28M)

With Robin Zentner expected to return to goal for Mainz after recovering from injury, many Fantasy managers will be looking to sell Alexander Schwolow this week. RB Leipzig’s Maarten Vandevoordt offers an excellent alternative, boasting the highest average points tally among the league’s first-choice goalkeepers at 227. He now has a favourable fixture against Schalke 04, who have scored just four goals in seven Bundesliga games, but is naturally considerably more expensive than Schwolow.

Elias Baum, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 5.45M)

Baum has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt’s starting XI for their last two games and offers plenty of potential at an affordable price. With a decent run of fixtures against Hamburger SV and Paderborn coming up before the international break, he could prove to be an excellent budget option.

Mitchell Weiser, Werder Bremen (Defender, 8.87M)

After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Weiser made his first start of the season for Werder Bremen’s 3-2 win over Mainz last week. Interestingly, he is being deployed as a winger despite being classified as a defender in the Fantasy game, significantly increasing his appeal.

Kevin Diks, Borussia Mönchengladbach (Defender, 9.71M)

Having missed Gladbach’s last two games for personal reasons, Diks is expected to return for their favourable home fixture against Paderborn this weekend. Die Borussen appear to have turned their fortunes around under Alexander Blessin, winning two consecutive games in all competitions, and Diks has plenty of Fantasy potential this week. A clean sheet is a realistic possibility, while his penalty-taking duties could provide an additional source of points.

Anthony Caci, Mainz (Defender, 11.37M)

One of the Bundesliga’s most in-form players at the moment, Caci has registered three goals and three assists in his last four league appearances. The Frenchman remains an excellent option for the upcoming round, with Mainz looking to bounce back from their shock cup defeat to Bochum. However, managers may want to consider selling him afterwards, with Bayern Munich next on Mainz’s schedule.

Wael Mohya, Borussia Mönchengladbach (Midfielder, 7.7M)

The highly-rated youngster has scored twice and provided an assist in his last two Bundesliga appearances. With Gladbach now facing Paderborn and Hamburger SV, Mohya has an excellent opportunity to build on his recent performances as Die Borussen look to extend their winning run.

Brajan Gruda, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 13.08M)

Gruda is in line to return to Leipzig’s starting XI against struggling Schalke 04 after having his minutes carefully managed following an injury layoff and making an impact off the bench in recent games. The attacking midfielder has showcased his explosive Fantasy potential on numerous occasions and looks like an excellent option for the next two rounds before the international break.

Shuto Machino, Borussia Mönchengladbach (Striker, 6.63M)

The 27-year-old forward found the net in last week’s 3-2 win over Stuttgart and should retain his place in the starting XI, with Isac Lidberg and Tim Kleindienst both struggling with injuries. Priced at just 6.63 million, Machino offers solid budget potential and could be a shrewd pick for managers looking to free up funds elsewhere.

Younes Ebnoutalib, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 6.76M)

At a similar price, Ebnoutalib is arguably an even more appealing option. The German international took his tally to seven goals in all competitions in the DFB-Pokal against Hamburger SV in midweek and will now have the chance to hurt the same opposition again this weekend. Given his recent form, affordable price tag and Eintracht Frankfurt’s favourable schedule, he’s well worth considering.

Niclas Füllkrug, Werder Bremen (Striker, 13.08M)

Having scored braces in three consecutive matches across all competitions, the Bundesliga’s leading goalscorer is brimming with confidence. Werder Bremen now host an inconsistent Hoffenheim side who were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by Holstein Kiel in midweek after 120 minutes and a penalty shootout. With Füllkrug in such prolific form and his opponents having endured a demanding cup tie, there is every reason to back him to continue his scoring streak.
