WWE’s Crown Jewel event has been moved from one location in Saudi Arabia to another amid safety concerns around the country.
Conflict in the region has seen speculation that the event could be moved out of the area, with some talk that a move back to the United States could be on the cards. But it was announced on Wednesday evening that the card will move from the Riyadh Season Stadium to the Kingdom Arena, moving from an outdoor arena to an indoor venue.
It means that WWE superstars will still be expected to travel to the Middle East despite the ongoing conflict and dangers in the area, and it has now emerged that TKO and senior WWE staff have been speaking to the talent to assure them of what is going to be happening while they’re out there.
According to a report by F4WOnline, TKO held a meeting with staff on Wednesday to address the safety surrounding the upcoming events in Saudi Arabia.
TKO President Mark Shapiro is understood to have spoken to employees on a Zoom meeting about the multiple cards that are currently scheduled, including the Crown Jewel event on November 7th. It’s understood that during those calls, Shapiro stressed that safety was ‘paramount’ to the company, and the calls have been described as “mostly rah-rah with each department”.
The Kingdom Arena previously hosted WWE Night of Champions in 2025 and 2026, and is scheduled to host Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s fight with Christian M’billi on October 31st.
WWE Crown Jewel Match Leaks
Crown Jewel is currently set to take place on November 7th, but only four matches have currently been officially announced for the card.
Roman Reigns is set to take on Sami Zayn or Trick Williams for the Crown Jewel Championship, with a final opponent to be decided after the latter two’s match on WWE SmackDown this week.
The Women’s Crown Jewel Championship match will see Liv Morgan take on Chelsea Green or Nicki Bella, who will also face off on WWE SmackDown this week. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will do battle in a Last Man Standing match, while the WWE Tag Team titles will be on the line as Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defend their championships against Penta and Je’Von Evans.
But it has now emerged that the company could be set to add a match between Gunther and Finn Balor to the card, after promotional materials were spotted in Saudi Arabia during preparation for the event.
It’s also been reported that some stars are refusing to travel to Saudi for the card, with Kevin Owens and Danhausen named by a former employee.
